New Blog

Welcome to Chaos is Lovely!

I've been thinking of starting a blog for some time now. I'm one of those people who loves to write things down. Whether it's a memory (like a milestone one of the boys has reached), or a new idea for finishing the basement, or even a craft idea that I'd like to create, I function better when I write things down rather than try to remember them. Seriously, you should see my planner. Yes, I still keep a paper planner. I tried the iCal thing on my phone, but I seriously LOVE writing down and crossing off my to do lists. It is just so satisfying! I just ordered an Erin Condren planner, and I have checked the status of my order at least once a day. I can't wait to get it!! If you haven't heard of Erin Condren, check out her Life Planners here. If you are thinking of designing your own, you can save $10 by using THIS code. When my planner arrives, I'll write a post about it. Ok, enough about planners.

Since this is my first post, I'd like to let you know about me. My name is Andrea. I have a wonderful husband, who works ridiculously hard to provide a such wonderful living that I am able to stay home with our two boys. B is two, and H is three months old. We just moved into a new home six months ago, and we love it. I am having fun decorating and making it our own. I am looking forward to finishing the basement… Well, really I'm mainly looking forward to finishing a playroom for the boys so my living room stops looking like a tornado went through it. For some reason B feels like he needs to drag all his toys out to the living room and not keep them in his bedroom. Seriously, this is my living room as I type:
Yes, one of B's favorite "shows" is Cars. It is normally just on in the background as he's playing, but if I were to turn it off… whew! Somehow he can sense when it's turned off, even though he's not even watching it. Like right now, he's playing in his room. If I were to change the channel to watch something else, he'd come tearing out of his room hollering about "my show!" He's such a delightfully funny creature!

My boys are my life, and life right now is pretty chaotic (hence the need for a planner). We are part of our school system's Parents as Teachers, and B is in Speech Therapy and has recently been formally diagnosed with a tongue tie and lip tie. He will need surgery (EEK!) to remove both of these soon. Then, we will need some chiropractic care and physical therapy to correct some physical changes this has caused. Who would have known that so much development is linked to your mouth?!?

My plans for this blog aren't entirely clear to me as of now. There will be posts about my wonderful boys. There will be posts about our home. There will be posts about learning and teaching. There will be posts about different projects I am dreaming about or have even followed through and began! There will probably be posts of all different sorts, but that's why the blog title is so fitting. Chaos is Lovely, and there is no way around it.

Hope to talk with you soon!
Andrea
